10 Questions – Day 8

Here we are — the question for Day 8 from the 10Q Challenge. Have no idea what I’m talking about? Refer to the Day 1 post. You can also see the answer to Day 2Day 3Day 4Day 5Day 6, and Day 7.

Question 8: Is there something (a person, a cause, an idea) that you want to investigate more fully in the coming year?

I want to get deeper into yogic theory, and make that part of my general body of knowledge, especially as it relates to health, nutrition, anatomy, and mental well-being. I know they are connected in a number of ways, and I want to build those connections in my mind.

I also wouldn’t mind spending some time focusing on feminist theory, and reading some of those good feminist-y books out there that I haven’t read yet.

And maybe dive back into my research on talent acquisition and adverse impact.

10 Questions – Day 7

Here we are — the question for Day 7 from the 10Q Challenge. Have no idea what I’m talking about? Refer to the Day 1 post. You can also see the answer to Day 2Day 3Day 4Day 5, and Day 6.

Question 7: How would you like to improve yourself and your life next year? Is there a piece of advice or counsel you received in the past year that could guide you?

I would like to take better care of myself and my home. That isn’t to say I don’t, but there is no routine around it. Currently I am trying to build morning and evening routines that make my days start better. That is going fairly well. Sure, there are hiccups some days, but it isn’t the end of the world — which my perfectionism has certainly gotten in the way of in previous attempts at this. So yeah — I would like to be more consistent in my exercise and yoga practice, I would like to take better care of my body through hygiene (not like, the basics, but self pampering and such), and I’d like to eat better, consistently, because I like how it makes me feel when I do. I would also like to have a cleaning routine in place for my home. That would be nice. Hopefully all of that can happen by next year.

As for a piece of advice or counsel from the past — don’t be so hard on yourself. You’re doing the best you can.

10 Questions – Day 6

Here we are — the question for Day 6 from the 10Q Challenge. Have no idea what I’m talking about? Refer to the Day 1 post. You can also see the answer to Day 2Day 3Day 4, and Day 5.

Question 6: Describe one thing you’d like to achieve by this time next year. Why is this important to you?

Oh wow. I don’t know. I think most importantly will be to get my debt more under control. I think when I get my yearly bonus come February, that will definitely help. I still have outstanding medical debt, regular old fashioned student loans, and then of course your ever-present credit card debt that I am working on. But I think I can get a lot of that handled over the next year. I would also like to apply for the master’s program in I/O Psychology at UNCC, but I haven’t decided to really do that yet.
